<p>A shear is provided with two knife holders, a fluid drive element and a pressure feeding device. The work chambers of the driven element, such as a double-acting cylinderpiston arrangement, and the elements carrying pressurized fluid, such as high-pressure pumps of the pressure feeding device are movable in common with one knife holder, which is movable in relation to the machine frame or to a guide for the material to be cut, and are preferably fixed to the latter. This provides a space-saving construction, especially in the sidewise direction, and increased safety of operation for the high-pressure hydraulic system of the cutting drive.</p> |
