Insect-catching apparatus with a conical trap house (1) of air-permeable net material, the house being supported by a bottom plate (2). At its plate's adjoining bottom edge the trap wall (4) has a number of openings along the bottom edge (7) for insects that are enticed into the trap by the smell of an attracting substance, placed most suitably in a bowl (8) on the bottom plate. The attracting substance is inaccessible for insects coming into the trap since the bowl (8) is surrounded by a protective housing (15) with an air-permeable side wall (17) of net material as well as a tight roof (18). Between the inlet openings (7) and the protective housing (15) a ring-formed wall (12) is erected with its own edge-cut openings (13) near the bottom edge. The house's (1) inside is through one opening (16) in a partition construction (11) divided into a lower area (9) and upper area (10) from where an insect will have little chance of finding its way back to the lower area (9) where the attracting substance, the protective housing (15) and the ring-formed wall (12) are housed. From the upper area (10) an exit opening (19) leads to the inner part of the trap's removable upper part connected to a collection bag (21) for the trapped insects.<IMAGE> |
