COAL FEED OPENING CLEANER FOR COKE OVEN

PURPOSE:To provide the titled cleaner which insures a safe cleaning operation of a coal feed opening of a coke oven which has an increasingly larger diameter from the top toward the oven chamber side, prepared by attaching to a truck a sliding axis which can be tilted and moved vertically and has a cleaning device at the lower end. CONSTITUTION:The cleaner is made by attaching to a truck 2 a sliding axis 4 which can be operated freely by vertically driving and tilting mechanisms. For the operation of the cleaner, the truck 2 is moved to just before a coal feed opening 6 for fixing with a fixture 22 and the sliding axis 4 is rotated by a rotator 15 and a flexible shaft 14. Then a handle 9 is manipulated to operate the vertically driving mechanism and bring down the sliding axis 4 into the coal feed opening 6 and a handle 18 is manipulated to operate the tilting mechanism and tilt the sliding axis 4 along the wall of the opening 6 so that a cleaning device 5 may be in contact with the whole wall surface 6' of the opening 6 for efficient and complete cleaning of the coal feed opening 6.
