PURPOSE:To produce a catalyst component capable of providing a stereoregular polymer in high yields without washing with an organic solvent, by heat-treating the product in copulverization of titanium trichloride with a specified organic compound and a specified titanium halide. CONSTITUTION:The titled catalyst component is produced by heat-treating the pulverization treatment product (preferably, at 50-80 deg.C for 10-60hr) during and/or after copulverizing (A) titanium trichloride with (B) an organopolysiloxane (e.g., dimethylpolysiloxane), (C) an organic acid ester (e.g., ethyl benzoate), (D) an ether (e.g., diethyl ether), and (E) a titanium halide of TiX4 (wherein X is a halogen), e.g., TiCl4. No organic solvent is necessary for the production of the catalyst component or for washing the formed catalyst component, so that this process is simple and convenient in operation and besides the formed catalyst component does not require cooling to room temperature or below during storage or transportation.
