The invention relates to a casing for lipsticks or the like, having an inner threaded adjusting device for advancing a pot-shaped receptacle in the direction of the upper opening of the casing which is closed by a cap, and having a rotary handling mechanism provided in the lower end region for actuating the threaded adjusting device. To achieve a favourable constructional shape, it is proposed that the entire threaded adjusting device be arranged below the pot-shaped receptacle (18 or 33). <IMAGE>
