PURPOSE:To perform maintenance operation for a porous elastic roller by an operator by providing a recovery case which is stored covering the porous elastic roll except where it is pressed against a toner image carrier and a magnetic field producing means which is put closer to the porous elastic roller from its outside and arranged opposite the roll. CONSTITUTION:Some of charges in toner image formation remain, so toner remains at the foaming part of the porous elastic roll 10 or sticks on and remains at the periphery of the projection part 11b of the recovery case 11 only by the beating of the projection part 11b. For the purpose, a magnetic field established by a magnet roll 12 is made to operate on even beside the projection part 11b and the remaining toner 4 while attracted with magnetic force is separated and from the porous elastic roll 10 and projection part 11b and conveyed through its rolling up to the projection part 11c of the recovery case 11 where the magnetic field does not operates, so that the toner falls by gravitation. Then, the porous elastic roll 10, recovery case 11 which contains it, and toner contained therein are thrown away together. Consequently, the replacement maintenance operation, etc., for the porous elastic roll 10 are easily carried out without making the hands and cloth of the operator dirty. |
