Self-contained garment associated with a "laser" system for remotely designating a person. The invention relates to self-contained garments used in combat simulations making it possible to remotely designate a person by light or sound. It comprises electrooptical detectors 1 sensitive to the radiation of a laser transmitter which, under the influence of this radiation, trigger light 3 and 4 or sound 5 tell-tales, doing so by means of an electronic circuit 2 reducing or cancelling out the power of the laser transmitter of the wearer of the garment by virtue of an external connector 6. The electrical power supplies 7 and the electronic circuits 2 are situated in a hermetically-sealed back pocket 8 preventing any intervention by the wearer of the garment. The batteries are rechargeable via the connector 9. The applications relate to the simulation of battle, to games of skill at arms and strategic simulation with communications. Its visual or sound character fits its particularly well for audio-visual techniques. <IMAGE>
