PURPOSE:To make repeated use of a sheet possible and to make a device compact by constituting the device so that a storage type phosphor sheet is moved to photographing, reading, and erasing parts circularly. CONSTITUTION:Storage type fluorescent sheets 2 which are supplied one by one from an accumulating case 11 or 15' have images picked up in an image picking-up part 10 and are carried to a reading part 20 by a carrying belt. The sheet 2 is scanned with an output laser 25A from a laser light source 25 in the reading part 20, and in this case, the emitted light of luminescence excited from the sheet 2 is received through a condensing optical element 28 by a photomultiplier 29 to read the image photoelectrically. Next, the sheet 2 is carried to an erasing part 40, and the image is erased by erasing units 41 and 42 alternately, and the sheet 2 is distributed to accumulating casses 11 and 15. With respect to advance read and regular read, the sheet 2 is carried with belts 22 and 24 to perform advance read, and belts are carried in the opposite direction to perform regular read. Thus, the sheet can be used repeatedly, and the device is made compact.
