PURPOSE:To erase signals of a prescribed track only and, at the same time, to prevent adverse influences to the next recording or reproducing, by setting an azimuth angle between the track direction of the gap of an erasing head and the track direction of a magnetic signal to be erased. CONSTITUTION:11 of the figure represents a part of the drum of a VTR around which a magnetic tape is wound. 12 and 13 are cores of an erasing head and recording or reproducing head, respectively, and 12g and 13g are gaps of the cores 12 and 13. An azimuth angle is set between the track direction of the gap 12g of the erasing head 12 and the track direction of a magnetic signal to be erased. Magnetic head devices having the same constitution as that shown in the figure is fixed to a rotation supporting bar at locations symmetrical about the center of the drum 11 and these magnetic head devices rotate in the direction shown by the arrow A. Both the 16 and 17 represent eccentric pins and, by means of the pins 16 and 17, the interval between the gaps 12g and 13g and the relative locations of the magnetic head devices installed to symmetrical locations to the head gaps can be adjusted. |
