The subject of the invention relates to the technical sector of the production, preparation, storage and distribution of ice. The unit is noteworthy in that it comprises, in combination, integrated into one and the same container of standardised size, at least one tank 2 which is shaped and arranged in order to produce ice in the form of bars, the said tank 2 interacting with a mould-release tank 3 which itself interacts with a mould-release table 4, whilst a refrigerating and water-treatment assembly is mounted in combination with the said table 4 and the two tanks 2 and 3; at least one mould 13 being arranged directly or in an attached manner in order to interact with a handling device with a view to the introduction and the removal of the mould or moulds in the tank 2 for producing the ice; a water reservoir 18 being suitably mounted on an appropriate part inside the container for filling the mould or moulds 13 in combination with the handling device; and a cold chamber 21 integrated inside the said container 1, permitting the preservation of the blocks or bars of ice.
