PURPOSE:To eliminate defects from a photosensitive material contg. a large amt. of humectant for preventing dry fog and to enable long-term storage, by adding a combination of a vinylopyrrolidone (co)polymer and at least one of a specified polyvalent phenol or naphthol deriv. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion layer contains a combination of at least one selected from compounds represented by formulae I and II (in which R1 is H, halogen -OH, -COOH, -SO3M, M being an alkali metal or NH4, optionally substd. alkyl or aralkyl or alkoxy or acyl, or -CO-CH3; R2, R3 are each -COOM or -SO3M; and n1, n3 are each 1-3; and n2 is 1 or 2), and a polymer contg. vinylpurrolidone as recurring units. As a result, the obtained photosensitive material is remarkably suppressed in high temp. and high humidity fog, free from trouble of film peeling and transfer, etc. due to emulsion adhesion, and not deteriorated in photographic performance under high temp. and high humidity, and durable against long-term storage. |
