In thin seams in coal mining, the material to be conveyed is conveyed on scraper chain conveyors which at the same time are provided as a guide for the mining machine and as an abutment for the self-advancing support system. To better utilise the space available in thin seams, the steel-plate troughs are designed as a conveyor profile (1) receiving the conveying side (2) and the slack side next to one another, which slack side guides the returning chain conveyor (4). <IMAGE>
