In the case of a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine, the injection valves of which are supplied with fuel by separately arranged injection pumps, the pump pistons can be controlled by a cam shaft by way of roller tappets, each with the incorporation of a rocker arm. The rocker arms are pivotably mounted on an eccentric shaft and can be adjusted by way of this by rotation of the latter for an adjustment of the injection timing relative to the fuel control cams of the camshaft. The eccentric shaft is composed of individual sections detachably connected to one another.
