PURPOSE:To prepare the titled composition having improved elasticity and strength and excellent transparency, by mixing an organic peroxide to a polymer composition composed of an ethylenic polymer and a butyl rubber under melting, and blending the obtained composition with a block copolymer rubber. CONSTITUTION:An organic peroxide (e.g. benzoyl peroxide) is added to a polymer composition composed mainly of an ethylenic polymer (e.g. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) and a butyl rubber (e.g. polyisobutylene), and made to react with each other under melting and mixing to obtain a composition essentially free from gel. The objective composition can be prepared by blending the resultant composition with a block copolymer rubber (e.g. a thermoplastic elastomer containing polystyrene block, e.g. SIS, SBS, etc.). A hot-melt adhesive composition is obtained by using the above hot-melt polymer composition as a base polymer, and adding a tackifier, a softener, etc. thereto.
