PURPOSE:To enhance maneuverability by setting a No.1 manual lever for kicking-up of a steering wheel in engagement with No.2 manual lever for storing the adjustment position of the steering wheel, when the latter named manual lever is controlled, and thereby allowing the two levers to swing as in a single piece. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel SW is adjusted, No.2 manual lever 53 is swung counterclockwise, and then a working plate 51 will slide to the right against the action of a lief spring 52 with a cam surface 53b1 and a pin 56 interposed in the effect. At the same time, a pin 53c of No.2 lever 53 is put in engagement with No.1 manual lever 43, and the two levers 53, 43 swing as in a single piece. Now a pawl 51c of the working plate 51 will go apart from ratchet teeth 42a to allow a boss 51d of the plate 51 to be in engagement with a recess 55a in a guide plate. No.1 lever 43 turns a pawl 41 through a cam surface 43a1 and a pin 45 to cause separation of the tooth 41a of this tooth pawl 41 from ratchet teeth 42a. Thereby the locational adjustment of the steering wheel can be made possible through ratchet 42 and bracket 32 under the condition that No.2 lever 53 is held. |
