The invention relates to a piston pump for liquid media, particularly for media contaminated by solid materials. In order to have a pump of this type which is self-cleaning, there is proposed to arrange the suction chamber (7), the pump cylinder (2) and the pressure chamber (8) next to each other in the same horizontal plane or slightly inclined, to arrange the non-return valves (9, 10, 11, 12) next to each other in the same horizontal plane or slightly inclined and to have the discharge connection (20) opening to the lower face of the pressure chamber. Furthermore, the suction connection (19) opens vertically or at least substantially vertically from the bottom of the suction chamber. Thereby, there is provided a liquid flow path in the pump which is substantially horizontal or slightly rising, so that solid materials arriving in the casing of the pump are again discharged from the pump. |
