<p>Each column of a press comprises a core rod (2) surrounded in a sliding manner by a sleeve (3). The clamping ram (10) which is associated with the column in question acts on the movable plate (8) to clamp the mould (11, 12). The upper plate (4) transmits the reaction to the auxiliary ram (5-6) which, bearing on the core (2), applies a force to the plate (4) which is equal to that generated by the auxiliary ram. Thus, the sleeve is theoretically not subjected to any force. The rams (9, 10) and (5-6) may be fed in parallel. If the clamping ram (9-10) is not coaxial with the column, it is possible to manage with an approximative solution, either using, as auxiliary ram, an appropriately fed multiple ram in tandem or else detecting the deformations of the sleeve and controlling the auxiliary ram in such a way as to cancel them. <IMAGE></p> |
