The present invention relates to a method for painting a vessel. A method for painting a vessel according to an embodiment of the present invention is a method for painting the hull of the vessel which comprises the steps of: (a) installing a draft mark within a predetermined distance range, based on the butt lines, at a position closest to the central axis of an after perpendicular and a fore perpendicular of the hull; painting a first area corresponding to at least a partial area of the hull positioned at a left or right side, based on the installed draft mark and painting a second area corresponding to at least a partial area of the hull positioned at a remaining right or left side in order; and (c) painting the corresponding butt lines from which the draft mark is removed and reinstalling the removed draft mark on the central axis. According to the present invention, the draft mark is installed such that the position thereof overlaps with a welding line, thereby preventing dual-painting work, improving the overall quality of painting, and providing a safer work environment.
