PURPOSE:To prevent an insert from being loaded reversely into the casting cavity of a die casting machine in the stage of loading the insert into the casting cavity by providing a detector for the position of the insert in the position where the insert is received or transferred. CONSTITUTION:An insert 21 for forming the hollow part of a cylinder is preliminarily loaded into the casting cavity constituted of a stationary die 6 and a movable die 7 of a die casting machine 3 in the stage of casting the cylinder by casting the melt of molten Al, etc. into the casting cavity by an injection device 10. One piece each of the insert 21 is removed from a stocker 11 contg. the many inserts 21 and a detector for the position of the insert is provided in the insert receiving part 29 of an insert handling device 12. After it is confirmed that the direction of the insert is not reverse by said detector, the insert is transferred to an insert feeder 16 attached to a rotary frame 15. The frame 15 is rotated to direct the feeder 16 toward the dies and the insert 21 is correctly loaded between both dies 6 and 7. |
