METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOLDING ENDLESS PRODUCT HAVING LARGE NUMBER OF PROJECTIONS ON ITS SURFACE

PURPOSE:To produce crack-free endless belts with projections by a method in which an unvulcanized rubber plate is interleaved between an intermediate mold having large numbers of holes on its periphery and a split-type outer mold to be pressed onto the outside of the intermediate mold, vulcanized and molded. CONSTITUTION:An unvulcanized rubber plate 26 is placed on the upside of an intermediate mold 1 having molding holes 5 for forming projections 4 at an adequate interval on its periphery. Another unvulcanized rubber plate 27 is also placed on the inner surface of the lower part 24 of an outer mold 22 positioned in the lower side. The outer molds 22 are closed, heated and pressed, whereupon the upper and lower unvulcanized rubber plates 26 and 27 are pressed into the holes 5 and molded into an endless product 3. An endless belt with the projections 4 can thus be obtained.
