PURPOSE:To improve sharpness and sensitivity by specifying the content of the white pigment in a hydrophilic colloid layer in a photographic printing material having the hydrophilic colloid layer and photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer disposed on one side of a paper base coated thereon with a synthetic resin film. CONSTITUTION:The content of the white pigment in the hydrophilic colloid material of a photographic printing material which is disposed with the hydrophilic colloid layer contg. the white pigment on one side of a paper base coated with a synthetic resin film on both sides and has further a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer thereon is made >=40vol% (more preferably 50-70vol%). The amt. of the white pigment to be coated is required to be 2g/m<2>, more preferably >=4g/m<2>. The thickness of the hydrophilic colloid layer contg. the white pigment is in a range of 1-10mu, more preferably in a range of 2-5mu. The white pigment that can be used is TiO2, BaSO4, etc. and above all, TiO2 is particularly effective. A hydrophilic colloid forming material generally used for a photographic material is usable as the binder for the hydrophilic colloid layer contg. the white pigment. The sharpness of the imge and sensitivity are improved by the above-mentioned constitution.
