PURPOSE:To coat a material in good efficiency, by a method wherein a solventless thermally reactive type adhesive is formed into a particulate form which is, in turn, melted to be formed into a sheet before transferred to the material to be coated while said sheet is successively transferred to the front and back surfaces of the material to be coated and cured under heating. CONSTITUTION:A solventless type adhesive 2 in a container 1 pulverized in a separate process is dispersed and supplied to the liquid sump 6 partitioned and constituted by a coating roll 3 heated to a temp. for melting the adhesive, an adjusting roll 4 and a weir plate 5 through a transport means 12. This particulate adhesive is melted to be processed into a sheet while passed through the gap of the coating roll 3 and the adjusting roll 4. This sheet is successively transferred to the front and back surfaces 1a of a material 1 to be coated while follows the conveying direction thereof. The adhesive 2 applied to the front and back surfaces 1a of the material 1 to be coated is heated to a set temp. in a separate process to cure the adhesive 2.
