发明名称 OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTING MECHANISM
摘要 PURPOSE:To connect optical fibers efficiently by combining three distributed index lenses different in periodic length when the optical fiber having a higher numerical aperture and the optical fiber having a lower numerical aperture are connected through a lens system. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from an exit point B of an optical fiber 1 having a higher numerical aperture becomes a parallel light by a distributed index lens 32 having a 1/4 periodic length and is made incident to a distributed index lens 32 having 1/4 periodic length and is focused on its end face C. Since the size of the image at the point C is so small that it is regarded as a spot light source, this light is condensed by a distributed index lens 33 having >=1/4 periodic length, and the spot diameter of the light incident to an incidence point D of an optical fiber 1 having a lower numerical aperture is smaller than the diameter of the optical fiber. Thus, an efficient optical fiber connecting mechanism is obtained.
