PURPOSE:To prevent deactivation of immobilized enzyme by placing the immobilized enzyme on the upper stream side of a reference electrode, etc., and impressing a reverse voltage higher than the ionizing voltage of Ag-AgCl on the reference electrode, etc. when an analyzing device is not used. CONSTITUTION:A buffer soln. is conducted by a liquid feed pump 2 from a buffer soln. tank 1 to a sample feed port 4 and the sample is fed to a flow-through cell 5. An enzyme electrode 6, a reference electrode 7 and a ground electrode 8 successively from an upper stream side are mounted on the cell 5. The sample arriving at the electrode 6 generates ammonium ion by the effect of the urea in the sample, thus generating a potential change between the electrode 6 and the electrode 7. The voltage change is recorded in a recorder 12. The Ag-AgCl used for the internal electrode of the electrode 7 in such measurement system elutes to deactivate the immobilized enzyme and therefore the enzyme electrode is disposed on the upper stream side of the reference electrode and when the analyzing device is not used, the reverse voltage higher than the ionizing voltage of the Ag-AgCl is impressed on the reference electrode, etc. to prevent said deactivation. |
