PURPOSE:To obtain a heat exchanger of high performance in a compact size, by independently providing a heat receiving surface and a heat radiating surface using a closed vessel in which water and steam are sealed, for a heat exchanger having a heat receiving surface in the combustion furnace or in the exhaust-gas passage of a combustion furnace of a waste incinerator of urban type. CONSTITUTION:When a heat exchanger 3 is installed in the ceiling wall 2 of a furnace, a closed vessel 4 is composed of three parts of the lower part 5, the middle part 6, and the upper part 7. The bottom of the lower part 5, facing to the furnace 1, is a heat receiving surface to heat the water contained inside. The lower part 5 is provided with a water level regulating device, consisting of an overhead water tank 8, a water replenishing line 9 and a ball tap 10 in order to keep the water in the lower part 5 in the range of predetermined water level. Accordingly the heat receiving surface is always under the water level, while water and steam are always sealed in the closed vessel 4. A heat transfer tube 11 is provided in the middle part 6, which forms a hot water generator 16 in such a manner that water chambers 12 and 13 are connected and cold water is fed into the chambers from an inlet pipe 14, exchanging heat with steam, and is discharged from an outlet pipe 15. A heat transfer pipe 18 with fins 17 is provided in the upper part 7, forming an air preheater 22, encircled by pneumatic chambers 19. |
