PURPOSE:To improve the power of a surface treating agent to clean a metallic mold and to prevent the mold from rusting by adding a lower alkylene halide, N-alkyl-lactam, an oil soluble rust preventive and a cellulose deriv. CONSTITUTION:A surface treating agent for metal is composed of a lower alkylene halide such as methylene chloride or trichloroethylene, N-alkyl-lactam such as N-methyl-propiolactam or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, a cellulose deriv. such as carboxymethylcellulose or hydroxyethyl-cellulose, and petroleum machine oil. The treating agent has superior power to clean a metallic mold and to prevent the mold from rusting. |
