PURPOSE:The titled apparatus capable of quantitatively and stably withdrawing a residue, constituted from such a mechanism that the residue separated in a separation tank is withdrawn from a piston apparatus and, after a washing liquid is intermittently passed through a piston, the residue is separated and withdrawn from the washing liquid. CONSTITUTION:In a high concn. residue withdrawing apparatus consisting of a solid-liquid gravity precipitative separation tank A being a vertically long cylindrical vessel 2, a residue extruding part B being a horizontal cylindrical vessel 9 equipped with a piston 10 and a washing liquid separating tank C being a vertically long cylindrical vessel 20 wherein a partition plate 21 is provided between slurry precipitation part 26 and a supernatant liquid storage tank part 27, the liquid recovered by the gravity precipitative separation of a treated substance supplied from a treated substance supply port 1 in the vessel 2 is withdrawn from a liquid withdrawing port 3 while the residue is withdrawn to the horizontal vessel 9 and sent to the separation tank C by operating a piston 10. Thereafter, a washing liquid is sent into the separation tank C by a pump 24 and the residue separated from the washing liquid in said tank C is taken out through a residue withdrawing port.
