PURPOSE:To improve discharging voltage, energy density and cycle life by employing zinc electrode containing indium, nickel electrode and alkali electrolyte containing indium ion and lithium ion. CONSTITUTION:A zinc electrode 1 mainly composed of zinc and zinc oxide while containing indium oxide or hydroxide and metal indium, nickel electrode 2 containing nickel as active substance and alkali electrolyte containing lithium ion and indium ion are employed. For example, mixture powder of 75wt% of zinc oxide powder, 10wt% of zinc powder, 5wt% of indium oxide, 5wt% of metal indium and 5wt% of fluorine resin powder is added with water and mixed then formed into a sheet through roller which is adhered on both faces of current collector of copper and pressure molded then dried to produce a zinc electrode. Electrolyte is potassium hydroxide solution of 30% concentration dissolved with 10<-4>mol/l of indium hydroxide and 1mol/l of lithium hydroxide. |
