A magneto-optical recording medium is disclosed, which comprises a transparent substrate, a vertical magnetic-anisotropic magnetic film layer formed thereon, which magnetic film layer comprises a ferrimagnetic oxide of the following formula MeGaxFe12-xO19 wherein Me represents an element selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr and Pb, and x is an integer of 3 to 8, and a reflection layer formed on the vertical magnetic-anisotropic film layer. |
