PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp dye image by transferring a mobile hydrophilic dye releasable by a specified heating manner in a substantially anhydrous state to a dye fixing layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material contains a photosensitive silver halide, and a dye donor reacting with said silver halide when it is heated, and releasing a hydrophilic dye represented by general formula I in which R is phenyl at least having hydroxy-substd. alkoxy or alkoxy-substd. alkoxy at the 2-position, and -SO2NH-Y at the 5-position; Y is one of groups represented by general formulae II-IX; and R<11>-R<14> are each H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, aralkyl, acyl, acylamino, alkylsulfonylamino, arylsulfonylamino, aryloxyamino, or the like. Said photosensitive material is imagewise exposed and thereafter or at the same time as the imagewise exposure, a mobile dye is imagewise distributed by heating it in the substantial absence of water.
