PURPOSE:To enable a comfortable air conditioning to be provided whose power consumption is less, by providing, in a blowing outlet, wind conducting plates that can be driven in opposite directions and controlling the air flow velocity by the rotational angles of air current conducting plates, in an air conditioner wherein the air flow velocity is controlled at the blowing outlet. CONSTITUTION:Immediately after the start of the operation of the air conditioner, a blower 3 is operated at a high speed. As a result, air current conducting plates 8a, 8b are fully opened by a driving motor. Thus, conditioned air at a prescribed velocity is blown from the blowing outlet 6 to air-condition the room uniformly. Then, when the room temperature is stabilized, the rotational speed of the blower 3 is decreased to reduce the opening between the air current conducting plates 8a, 8b. Accordingly, without lowering the speed of the conditioned air from the blowing outlet 6, warm wind can be blown to perform uniform air conditioning. Since cold wind or hot wind can be blown from the blowing outlet to perform cooling or heating without lowering the wind velocity, it is not required to additionally provide an air circulator, and the power consumption can be lowered. |
