PURPOSE:To inhibit the connection of a color image pickup device to a black- and-white printer or the connection of a black-and-white image pickup device to a color printer by discriminating a color or a monochromic inquiry command data so as to control the picture processing. CONSTITUTION:Color image pickup devices 1, 9 and a balck-and-white image pickup device 15 are connected respectively to color transmission modules 2, 10 and a black-and-white transmission module 16 via a network system 7 and the system 7 is connected to color receivers 21, 28 and a black-and-white receiver 35. A host computer 8 is inquired before the start of transmission and receiving of a picture data and the computer 8 performs system check and system set by a command signal as to whether the line is idle or not, as to the type of a receiver and as to whether or not the operation is possible. Further, the command signal sets a coefficient for correcting gamma of a color signal of picture processing sections 24, 31. Thus, the connection of the color image pickup device to the printer exclusive for color is inhibited and the connection of the balck-and-white image pickup device to the printer exclusive for color is inhibited or permitted with a condition. |
