PURPOSE:To ensure the highly efficient use of resources by introducing the shared or exclusive relation to a test-and-set instruction in a multi-processor system. CONSTITUTION:A processor (i) executed a test-and-set instruction with designation for shared use to a shared or exclusive display area in order to read out a common table 5. The exclusive display flags of the shared or exclusive area are all off, and therefore the shared display flag of the processor (i) is turned on to send back a usable condition code. The processor (i) starts reading the table 5. Then a processor (j) executes a test-and-set instruction with the shared designation to the corresponding area, and a shared display flag 2i of the processor (i) is turned on. However all exclusive display flags are off and therefore the sharped display flag is turned on for the processor (j) to send back a usable condition code. Thus the processor (j) also reads out the table 5 concurrenntly. |
