Pump with a slanting plate according to the main patent, in which the pistons 7 are arranged parallel to the axis of the drive shaft 4 of the pump and are given a reciprocating movement by means of the said slanting plate 2 on the face 2a of which they bear each by means of a stud 11 which straddles a crescent 12 etched on the said face 2a during the inlet phase of the liquid, the face 2 of the slanting plate being fitted, in the immediate vicinity of the line of greatest slope xy with a draining orifice 24 fitted with a non-return valve 22 held back by a spring 23 of low rate. The said drainage orifice communicates with the tank 15 via a drain 33 so that each time a stud 11 passes over the said orifice 24 a small quantity of liquid under high pressure is drained towards the tank, which decompresses the dead chambers of the pistons and eliminates any excessive heating of the pump. <IMAGE>
