PURPOSE:To provide the titled apparatus capable of smoothly and certainly winding up and unwinding filter cloth, constituted by securing the lower end of the filter cloth rising and falling through a filter driving shaft to a winding-up roll having an elastic energizing means provided thereto to bring about such a state that constant tension force is always applied to the filter cloth. CONSTITUTION:An endless chain 20 is stretched upon the chain wheel 10 of a filter cloth driving shaft 5 horizontally provided to the upper part of a filter plate 1 and the chain wheel 18 of the shaft 15 of the filter cloth winding-up roll 25 horizontally provided to the lower part of the filter plate 1 while the filter cloths 21, 22 of a filter press are suspended from the filter cloth upper end support bar 23 secured to said chain 20 to be raised and fallen and the chain wheels 10, 18 are cooperated to wind up the above mentioned filter cloths 21, 22 around the above mentioned winding-up roll 25 and unwinding the same from said roll 25 through guide rolls 16, 17. The above mentioned winding-up roll 25 is attached to the winding-up shaft 15 in a freely rotatable manner through a bearing 26 and one end of a coil spring 30 as an elastic energizing means is secured to the winding-up shaft while the other end thereof is fixed to the winding-up roll 25 to always energize the filter cloths 21, 22 to the winding-up direction.
