PURPOSE:To reduce the electric power consumption for recording by providing a means which selects transmission and non-transmission of a speed reduction transmitting mechanism of a device as required and driving a capstan at a recording period by the speed reduction transmitting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:At a recording period, an idler pulley 18 is pressed to a boss 11 and a flywheel 15 by a tension spring 21. A driving current is flowed to a cylinder driving coil 10, and a rotary head cylinder 5 is rotated in a high speed, for example, with 30 rotations per second. At this time, the driving current is not supplied to a capstan driving coil 17. At a reproducing period, since an arm 20 is turned counterclockwise by a means such as a solenoid or the like, the idler pulley 18 is separated from the flywheel 15. The driving current is flowed to the capstan driving coil 17 by a driving control circuit, and a capstan 14 is driven in the same speed as recording. The capstan servo is so performed that magnetic heads 6 and 7 trace accurately on a recording track of a magnetic tape 26. |
