PURPOSE:To obtain rapidly a high-quality color image by forming a mosaic layer consisting of elements transmitting only blue, green or red light and contg. a corresponding dye (precursor) releasing substance and a silver halide emulsion layer on a transparent support and by transferring a color image to an image receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A fine mosaic or striped filter layer 2 consisting of elements each transmitting spectrally blue light B, green light G or red light R and a blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer 3 are formed on a transparent support 1. The elements of the layer 2 transmitting blue light B contain a yellow dye (precursor) releasing substance, the elements transmitting green light G contain a magenta dye (precursor) releasing substance, and the elements transmitting red light R contain a cyan dye (precursor) releasing substance. The layer 2 contg. the dye releasing redox compounds is exposed and developed with an alkaline processing soln. contg. a color developer, and diffusible dyes are diffused and transferred to an image receiving layer 4. Thus, a high-quality color image is formed by short-time processing. |
