PURPOSE:To make a card reader body small-sized, to simplify a card carrying mechanism, and to obtain high reliability by operating the motor casing itself of a geared motor as a card carrying roller. CONSTITUTION:An inserted card 63 is carried to the right in the figure by an elastic body 64 wound round a geared motor casing, and a roller 66 energized by a pressure spring 65. After the carrying-in of the card is ended, a solenoid 68 is turned on to rotate a power transfer switching member 59 connected by a pin 69 counterclockwise, and a pawl part 59b goes into the tooth part 62a of a gear 62 to detain a rotation of the geared motor casing, and simultaneously, to disengage the mesh of the pawl part 59a and a spur gear 52 and to rotate the output shaft 51 of a geared motor counterclockwise. By the constitution of the power transfer system, a pulley 55 is also rotated in the same direction as the output shaft 51, namely, counterclockwise, and a signal read/write head 57b is driven to the left in the figure on the card 63. |
