PURPOSE:To improve charge and discharge characteristics and the voltage holding characteristics of a battery by using a metal electrode as a first electrode and a carbon fiber electrode coated with conductive high polymer as a secondary electrode. CONSTITUTION:Alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and the metals of group 3 listed on the periodic table are recommended as the metals used a first electrode 3 and for example, lithium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, etc. can be listed. The carbon fiber with the specific surface area of 500-4,000m<2>/g is recommended as the carbon fiber in the carbon fiber electrode 1 coated with conductive high polymer that is a secondary electrode. The shape is not particularly restricted, such as rod type and sheet type, and the sheet type comprised with the carbon fiber with the diameter of 8-30mum is recommended.
