PURPOSE:To increase high rate discharge capacity at low temperature by making exist hollow acid resistant fiber in an active material. CONSTITUTION:When a paste for a cathode or an anode of a sealed type battery having less electrolyte or a high power battery is kneaded, hollow acid resistant fibers are dispersed in the paste so as to exist in an active material. Hollow fiber having an inner diameter of 3mu or less and a length of 1-10mm. is preferable. Glass, polypropylene, polyester, or polyacrylonitrile is preferable as a acid resistant fiber. By this invention, since the electrolyte holding amount in a plate is increased, active material utilization during discharge is increased and capacity is also increased. |
