PURPOSE:To collect histidine from a culture which is prepared by cultivating a strain belonging to the genus Corynebacterium or Brevibacterium which is transformed by using a recombined DNA having a DNA fragment containing a gene participating in formation of histidine. CONSTITUTION:A host strain selected from bacteria belonging to the genus Corynebacterium and Brevibacterium is transformed using a recombined DNA of a DNA fragment containing a gene participating in formation of histidine and a vector DNA (e.g., pCG1, pCG2, PCE54, pCG11, pCB102, etc. derived from a bacterium belonging to the genus Corynabacterium, especially pCG11) capable of mulplying by itself in a cell of the host strain, to give a transformed strain. The prepared transformed strain is cultivated in a medium, and histidine is collected from it. A DNA fragment derived from an eucaryota, procaryote, virus, bacteriophage, or plasmid is used as the DNA fragment containing the gene. |
