PURPOSE:To prevent vehicles from reckless driving by providing an electronic control actuator comprising a drive motor in a throttle valve of an engine and a mechanism for interconnecting mechanically an accelerator pedal and a valve stem through an electromagnetic clutch to shove in the electromagnetic clutch in any failures of the actuator. CONSTITUTION:A valve stem 3 of a throttle valve 2 in an internal combustion engine is provided with an electronic control actuator consisting of a drive motor 5 and a calculation control section 9, while a disk 20 connected mechanically to an accelerator pedal 10 through an electromagnetic clutch 11 is connected to the other end of the valve stem. The electro-magnetic clutch is declutched when excited and shoved in when unexcited. When a control circuit 29 detects abnormalities in the electronic control actuator 4 from the opening thetaF of the throttle valve and the pedalling amount V of the accelerator pedal, a relay 26 is driven to open contacts 26b and stop power supply to the actuator 4 while the excitation of a coil 12 in the electromagnetic clutch 11 is released to couple a rotary shaft 15 with the valve stem 3. |
