The invention relates to a novel boiler for central heating constructed according to a novel operating concept for reducing consumption. It is a boiler made of steel of stellar shape, as indicated in the drawing, so as to permit operation in two stages, according to the external temperature, that is with the operation of two oil burners which act in their own combustion chamber separated by a double wall where the water circulates. The same boiler can be utilised for burning solid fuel (wood) by means of the application of a gas-generating burner at the third aperture which fully utilises the two chambers and the two chimneys. As the gas outlet passes through a tube (8) of reduced cross-section which is covered with aluminium vanes (9) similar to a radiator, they yield the heat to the air circulating therein (10) and it enters into the burner, attracted by the fan, increasing the efficiency. Said boiler can, if desired, be heated with electric elements which are inserted into the lateral chambers (4). <IMAGE>
