Casting ladle with a measuring device for determining the level of the molten metal level

The level of molten metal in a casting ladle is measured by means of electrical contacts which are covered by the molten metal to an extent which depends on the said level. Due to electrical short-circuiting of the partially submerged contacts to a base contact, a signal is produced which indicates the level of molten metal.
