PURPOSE:To prevent drop of power transmission efficiency by furnishing the fluid joint interposed between engine and clutch with an aux. clutch, which can be engaged and disengaged freely, and thereby lessening slip of the fluid joint while the car is in normal high-speed running. CONSTITUTION:Output from an engine 1 is transmitted to driving wheels 5 of the vehicle through a fluid joint 2, speed-changing clutch 3 and manually operated speed changer 4. This manual speed changer 4 is to carry out speed change with five forward positons associate with one backward positon, wherein five transmission systems G1, G2, etc. for said forward positons and one backward transmission system GR are provided between a driving shaft 4a in connection to said speed changing clutch 3 and a driven shaft 4b in connection to said driving wheels 5. The forward systems G1, G2, etc. shall be established selectively by each synchro- meshing mechanism 6 interlocked with a shift lever, while the backward system GR is equipped with an intermediate idle gear 8 to be changed over by a shift fork 7 interlocked with the shift lever, and is established by changing-over of the idle gear to the backward position. |
