PURPOSE:To form easily and efficiently a ceramic coating having improved adhesion power by adding a small amt. of a binder such as sodium silicate to ceramic powder such as alumina powder to make paste, coating the paste on a metallic base plate and drying and heating partially the coating under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A small amt. of a binder 2 such as sodium silicate, acetone or the like as much as ceramic powder 1 such as alumina powder, zirconia powder, nickel aluminite powder or the like forms paste is added to the powder 1 to form pasty ceramics 3. The pasty ceramics 3 is coated on the surface of a metallic base plate 4 and is dried at 200-500 deg.C and thereafter the surface thereof is continuously and partially heated at a high temp. of >=1,500 deg.C by the flame of a burner 5. The ceramics 3 is thus surely coated on the base plate 4.
