PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly of an input shaft to a housing, by providing a member which supports the drive pinion of the input shaft at the side of a differential and does not belong to the housing and by assembling the input shaft to the housing at the side of the differential. CONSTITUTION:A member 31 supports the drive pinion 2 of an input shaft 1 at the side of a differential and comprises a bearing part 31a and a secured part 31b formed integrally and continuously to the bearing part. The secured part 31b is clamped on a gear carrier 29 by bolts 32 as the bearing part 31a is placed among the gear carrier 29, a downwardly extending part 30 and a roller bearing 17 fitted on the auxiliary part 4 of the input shaft 1, so that the drive pinion 2 on the input shaft 1 at the side of the differential is supported rotatably to a housing 24. Since the input shaft 1 is assembled to the housing 24 at the side of the differential, the assembly is facilitated.
