A device (11) for setting a desired value is proposed, in which an operating lever (20) can be disengaged from the brake disc (13) in a simple way without the set desired value being changed in the process. For the purpose of setting a desired value, the multipart operating lever (20) can be pivoted with respect to a bolt (12) in a plane, and with respect to a pin (24) in a second plane perpendicular thereto for the purpose of engagement and disengagement. The locating lug (26) is automatically pressed by means of a locating spring (28) into the locating notch (27). As a result, once set, the desired value can be found again automatically by pivoting the operating lever backwards until the locating lug (26) engages in the locating notch (27). <IMAGE>
