In a device for covering an open pipe end when the latter is embedded in a casting composition having a closure body which can be fixed to a mould element, said closure body is designed as a closure cap (3) which receives the pipe end (2) in its inner cavity (4), which is made of flexible material, and which is provided at its receiving opening (5) with an annular bead (6) which encloses the pipe end (2) in a sealing fashion. In this arrangement, the closure cap (3) is expediently shaped, at least on its outer wall, as a truncated cone, whose end face of a relatively small outer diameter exhibits the receiving opening (5) with the annular bead (6), and whose bottom face can be fixed to a mould element (7). Furthermore, the inner cavity (4) receiving the pipe end can also be designed in the shape of a truncated cone so as to be concentric with the outer truncated cone. <IMAGE>
