PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency by providing a conduit hole for cooling water embedded in the body of a casting mold and inserting a spiral vane into said hole. CONSTITUTION:A conduit hole 2 for cooling water is provided in a body 1 of a casting mold consisting of a blank material having good heat conductivity such as a copper alloy. A spiral vane 5 advancing longitudinally is inserted into the hole 2. The vane 5 is provided in order to rotate the cooling water and is therefore not always required to be formed over the entire length of the hole 2. Then the cooling water continues to turn over on progression and since the cooling water contributes to the cooling over the entire part of the body of the casting mold, the cooling efficiency is improved. |
